Life is short. And so is our attention.
Whether product management, marketing, entrepreneurship, or… anything really, it often involves more than just you, so good communication is key to getting what you want.
Customers, buy my product! Co-workers, agree with my idea! Friends, come hang out at my Super Bowl party, not the other four you got invited to!
Consider the 3 Cs to up your communication game:
Clear
Did you say it in a way that folks would understand? Was it intuitive or confusing? If it wasn’t clear, no one will know what you are talking about. The key to this is know your audience. Choose words that meet them where they are.
Concise
Did you use the fewest words necessary to get the point across? More is not more. And consider what is appropriate for the medium (blog post, tweet, white paper, etc.).
Compelling
Did it encourage them to take action? Whether your words are meant to inform or call people to arms, you said them for a reason. Did it activate the right passion in your audience to care and do something? Or was it easy to ignore?
